SUPPORTED BY HALF-OFF HOSTINGHey Reader, When I was a kid, I had a junk drawer full of random springs and metal parts and scrap pieces I found in my Dad's garage. It was the bottom drawer in my nightstand and every evening I'd open it, sit on the floor cross-legged, and see what I could make. One time I made a Home Alone style door knob trap. It worked. Another time I made a perfectly usable slingshot. Ask my brother if it worked. But perhaps my favorite invention was a pulley-system basket of snacks that hung from my ceiling to the corner of my bed. I could pull it down in the middle of the night for a juice box or M&Ms. I loved that I made this thing using pieces of other things. And these days, AI is giving me that same feeling back. All of October I'm head down in AI Systems Architecture learning to build what I think will change how many businesses operate––certainly how my business operates. I'm excited to share more about this if you're interested. Reply and tell me what you wish was easier in your business. BEHIND THE BUSINESSTraining My AI Employee on Making Great WebsitesThe above is a website that doesn't look like AI because it isn't AI.
That doesn't mean AI wasn't used in helping me make it great. I've built a skill that identifies all the things I look for to make a website excellent based on the goals of the owner, and it's now part of my website-cleanup process. I rarely offered this service because it's a heavy sprint for me, but undeniably helpful for clients who start their website and can't quite get it to a place they like on their own. It removes the drudgery of technical difficulty and let's me think and connect and make something that feels like them, but more importantly, works for them. A website is not rocket science, but done right, it's a legitimate channel for people to reach you, and more importantly, connect with you. You. Are. A. Hero. That's a direct quote from our client Dr. Katie Tarver who is focused on bringing survivorship care to Phoenix. She's exactly the kind of client I want to help with a product like this: too small for a full-service agency, too busy for a DIY build. Feeling nervous about AI? Or just annoyed? While lots of people are still understandably nervous about this technology and rightfully so, I think if we focus on ethical use cases and real regulation around both its use and power generation, it will truly be life-changing. So I challenge you to reframe your thinking: you'll be automatically promoted. Your job will be to oversee, to be human, to learn, to imagine, and to be immensely more creative. The real value then will be in figuring out what to build, for who, and why. If you’re receiving this, you signed up, were recommended by a fellow creator, or downloaded one of my helpful resources.
